Jenna Dziuk, MS, CCC-SLP

My name is Jenna Dziuk, an ASHA certified and Texas licensed Speech Language Pathologist and owner of The Speech Shed.

I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders in 2015 and my Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders in 2017 from Texas State University, where I was awarded Clinician of the Year.

I have worked as an SLP in school districts and in home health for the last 7 years, where I gained skills needed to provide neurodiversity affirming therapy, parent coaching, and so much more.

I created The Speech Shed to provide a place where parents feel fully supported in the therapy process.

Hi parents! I’m so happy you’re here.

You’re likely here because you have concerns about your child’s development.

I get it. I’m a mama to a rambunctious little boy who has spent the majority of his life in speech and feeding therapy. I know what it feels like to be concerned about milestones and your child’s development.

Please know that your concerns are valid, you are an AMAZING parent, and I am here and committed to helping YOU and your child.

Before becoming a private practice clinician, I was a school-based SLP for 7 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with children in the school system. Something was missing though…and that was the ability to work closely with families every single day.

Family involvement is SO important and plays a huge role in therapy progress. As a private practice clinician, I have the ability to involve families in our sessions every single day!

“I strongly believe in using a holistic and play based approach to therapy. This allows your child to be seen and heard, building off their individual interests and abilities.”

Let me help you find solutions.

With a focus on functional communication and sensory integration, I’m on a mission to provide speech therapy that will make a difference for not only the children that I treat, but also the families that I serve.

The Speech Shed gives that “mom and pop shop” vibe! Being a small private practice means that you have the ability to text, email, or call me directly with absolutely no front desk dread!

My goal is to provide you with answers, support, and resources that will help you become confident in your child’s therapy journey.

Philosophy

This practice was formed with two main goals in mind.

First, to foster your child's communication, facilitate learning, and nurture growth through interactive play. Parents are their childs' first teachers. My second goal is to empower YOU, the parent/caregiver, with the assurance and guidance to further their development at home.

FAQs

  • I primarily treat children who are at an early intervention age (0-3 years old), preschool age (3-4 years old), and  school age (5-18 years old). Feel free to reach out, regardless of your child’s age!

  • I treat a variety of delays and disorders. Here’s a list of some (but not all) areas I can work on: pre-language skills, joint attention, feeding and expanding restrictive food repertoires, receptive language, expressive language, communication modalities (AAC), social skills and pragmatic language, articulation and sound errors, phonology and phonetic skills, behavior management as a result from communication deficits, and parent coaching.

  • At this time I travel to homes and daycares within Karnes County and Wilson County, within a certain radius. Please call for more information regarding location of services.

  • This often happens to our clients! Private speech services are a great option to address any needs or concerns that are present. If your child does not meet the criteria for early intervention or school services, they may still have a delay and benefit from services. I can often work with your most recent evaluation to help create an individual treatment plan, unique to your child and their needs!

  • I currently provide services in the client’s home and in daycare centers in Karnes and Wilson county. I also provide virtual therapy to families residing in Texas.

By providing services in your home, not only is the child comfortable in their environment, but you/your family can be involved in the therapy process, which supports carryover skills and, ideally, faster progress.

  • We understand that each child progresses differently through therapy, much like through life. Parents and caregivers are children’s first teachers and it is crucial they are equipped with the education and strategies that will help them and their child be successful. We are excited to talk with you about teachable moments you can practice at home.

  • I am currently a private pay practice and an “out of network” provider for insurance companies. This assures that all therapeutic decisions for your child are made based solely on professional expertise and not on health insurance policies. Being a private pay provider means that you pay my rate at the time of service and then have the option to submit documentation, called a “superbill”, to your insurance company for reimbursement. Since I do not work with insurance companies directly, I always recommend that you contact your insurance company directly to determine what is covered and what exclusions may apply.

  • I offer a variety of payment options, including credit, debit, cash, and checks. Most travel expenses are inclusive in the cost of therapy; however, additional travel fees may apply for homes/daycares outside of my service radius. I will go over all of these options with you when beginning services.

  • Please reach out for a copy of my inquiry guide for specific pricing and service information!

  • Your sessions are very important to me. Not only is this time reserved specifically for you, but clients and families must participate in scheduled sessions in order to make progress. However, I understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary and respectfully request at least 24 hour notice prior to your scheduled appointment time for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations and “no shows” are subject to a fee for the scheduled time. The cancellation policy and all other policies in your initial intake paperwork should you have more questions.

  • If you don’t see your question here, feel free to text or call me at (830) 299-2019 or email me at jennadziuk@thespeechshed.com. I am happy to answer any and all questions you may have!

-Mom to a 4 year old

  • My son started seeing Mrs. Jenna the summer before he started school and I wish I would have started him sooner! In just a few sessions I was able to tell a difference in his speaking and annunciation. He loved his mornings when Mrs. Jenna visited and I’m so appreciative of the hard work she has done for us.

-Mom to a 4 year old

  • We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding work Jenna has done with our child. Our child had difficulty with dropping syllables and enunciating words, and we were concerned about her language skills being not on level for her age. Jenna provided expert guidance and support, making remarkable progress with our child. Her patience, professionalism, and dedication truly stands out. Our child’s language communication significantly improved during her time working with Jenna. We highly recommend her to anyone seeking a skilled and compassionate speech-language pathologist.
